It is reported that the Canton Government is now

establishing a wireless installation and a small coal

depot at Bias Bay and is engaged in building temporary

barracks to house troops to be stationed there

permanently. There are indications also that the

measures taken elsewhere are having a good effect; most

significant if true is the report that certain irregular.

bodies known as "protection corps" are being disarmed

and disbanded and their places taken by regular troops.
